ABOUT THE PROGRAMME - slider
The Italy-Croatia CBC Programme’s overall objective is
“to increase the prosperity and the blue growth potential
of the area by stimulating
able to achieve tangible changes”.
The main key assets are related to the maritime dimension of the Programme due to the central location of the Adriatic Sea:
- the maritime character of historical trade relations;
- the joint asset of natural areas and cultural heritage;
- the shared importance of economy branches exploiting the rich natural sea-based resources;
- the transportation patterns and socioeconomic processes.
The challenge for the Programme is that maritime issues are not the subject of a specific Thematic Objective (TO) under ERDF, but rather should be seen as a cross-cutting issue. This creates the challenge of interpreting, prioritizing and integrating the maritime dimension in the selected Priority Axes. The Italy - Croatia Programme is composed of four Priority Axes responding to the identified key assets and challenges, within each of the four priority axes specific joint cross-border actions will be supported and numerous outputs will be obtained.
